明日之光First Step 團隊的2021年
前言
2020年11月，美中下一代基金會明日之光公益獎平台正式成立並得到華人社區的積極響應。平台的職責之一是傳播各個團隊的事迹和經驗，共大家學習，交流和參考。這篇文章是喜得2020年美國總統義工服務獎的林家姐妹Annie（英文原創）和Chloe（中文翻譯）再次攜手，報道她們團隊2021年所做的公益活動。希望其他團隊的隊員們也踴躍將自己的經歷寫下來，互相交流，互相促進。
快速發展的一年 – First Step 團隊2021年工作總結

Over the year 2021, First Step team continued the mission of improving our community by cleaning up trash, volunteering at local food banks, bell ringing for the Salvation Army, and more. We have grown from the original four members to more than 35 in just one year, and organized more than 50 activities. Here』s a brief summary of all we did in 2021.
在2021年里，First Step 團隊一直堅持通過清理垃圾，在食品銀行幫忙，為救世軍募捐等方式幫助和改善我們的社區。我們已經從最初的四人發展到35人以上，並組織了50 多次活動。下面是一份簡短的2021工作總結。
We organized more than 30 trash cleaning activities over the past year. Some of the highlights were: The Earth Day Challenge – Members cleaned up trash around their neighborhoods on Earth Day; Shine A Light Awards Ceremony – members received the Shine A Light Award, and then picked up trash in Wills Park after the awards ceremony; the Lake Lanier Shore Sweep 2021 – This annual event was organized by Lake Lanier Association. More than 20 people participated, including students and their parents.
一年來，我們組織了30多次垃圾清掃活動。 其中一些亮點是: 地球日挑戰 – 團隊成員在地球日清理自己社區周圍的垃圾；明日之光頒獎典禮 – 部分成員獲得了2020 年明日之光獎項，頒獎典禮結束後我在 Wills 公園撿垃圾; 2021 Lanier 湖岸清掃 – 這是由Lanier 湖協會組織的年度活動，包括學生和家長在內的20多名團隊成員參加了這天的清潔活動。
We organized 6 fundraising activities over the past year. Some of the highlights were: CFF 5k walk – Together as a team, we walked more than 60 miles and raised $460 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; Summer Bake Sales – We baked cookies, brownies, muffins, etc and made lemonade and sold them in a neighborhood to raise money for trash cleaning equipment purchases; Salvation Army holiday fundraise – We organized three days of bell ringing in November and December, and raised close to $1400, which the Salvation Army will use to help people in need. Total fund raised in 2021 was more than $2000.
2021 年我們共組織了 6 次籌款活動。 其中一些亮點是：CFF 5公里走路募捐 – 作為一個團隊，我們十幾個人加起來共走了 60 多英里，為囊性纖維化基金會籌集了 460 美元； 夏季烘焙銷售 – 我們烘焙餅乾、布朗尼蛋糕、鬆餅等，製作檸檬水並在一個小區出售，為購買垃圾清潔設備籌集資金；救世軍聖誕募捐 – 我們在十一月和十二月組織了三天的搖鈴活動，籌集了近 1400 美元，救世軍將用於幫助有需要的人。 全年籌集的資金總額超過 2000 美元。
Many team members volunteered at Cross Pointe Church food bank where volunteers are much needed every week.

Many members participated in other volunteer activities not mentioned in the previous paragraphs. Here are some examples: World Changers, True Love Summer Camp, Oatland Island Summer Camp junior counselor, and online tutoring in English, debate, and other subjects.
許多成員參加了文章前幾段沒有提及的其他志願者活動，比如：世界改變者；真愛夏令營；Oatland Island 夏令營初級輔導員；在線輔導英語，辯論，以及其他科目。
We held several team building activities throughout the year. Some of the highlights were: Kayaking on Lake Lanier; Whitewater rafting in Columbus, GA; Boating on Lake Allatoona for Labor Day Weekend; and Skiing and snowboarding at Cataloochee Ski Area. We always had a great fun time together!
我們還舉辦了多次團建活動。 其中一些亮點是：在 Lanier 湖劃皮划艇；在喬治亞州哥倫布市的激流漂流；勞動節周末在 Allatoona 湖坐輪船；去 Cataloochee Ski Area 滑雪。我們總是在一起玩得很開心。

Despite the pandemic, 2021 has been a successful and fast growing year for the First Step team. We are grateful for the opportunities to make a difference in our community by helping people and the environment. We hope to continue the effort in the new year and we welcome more friends to join us.
雖然新冠大流行還在繼續，但是 2021 年對我們團隊來說是成功的並且快速成長的一年。有機會通過幫助人們和環境改善社區，我們心存感激。我們希望在新的一年裡繼續努力，並歡迎更多的朋友加入。
