社區新聞 | 19位亞城華人狀告旺旺海鮮大酒店

辛西婭·戴利(Cynthia M. Daley), 作為喬治亞州卡羅爾頓(Corrollton) 喬納森·布羅克曼(Jonathan R. Brockman, P.C.) 律師事務所的律師,代表 19 位原告正式對旺旺海鮮大酒店提起訴訟。

這些原告們均在 2018 年 2 月 11 日,作為農曆新年慶祝活動的一部分,在位於 1600 Pleasant Hill Road, Duluth, Georgia 30096 的旺旺海鮮大酒店(Won Won Seafood Restaurant)就餐後生病。

該訴訟指控,所有 19 名原告都在該餐廳內不同地點及不同餐桌上,以家庭分享形式食用了完全相同的套餐。在當天旺旺海鮮大酒店的慶祝晚宴後,19 名原告均出現相同病症:嘔吐、腹瀉和胃部痙攣。

該訴訟進一步指控,旺旺海鮮大酒店未能提供相對安全的食物以供其顧客食用。

戴利律師表示:「旺旺海鮮大酒店拒絕做正確的事,拒絕承認這是造成我所有19 位客戶疾病的根源,並拒絕接受支付原告少量賠償金的要求,以補償原告的醫療費用,誤工,以及數日患病的痛苦。旺旺海鮮大酒店的做法讓我的客戶別
無選擇,只能起訴。在我們聯繫旺旺海鮮大酒店之後,餐館老闆不僅沒有真正的承認問題,支付要求的賠償金以補償我的客戶們,反而試圖在華人社區威嚇他們。這不是應有的做生意和對待客戶的方式」。

Cynthia M. Daley, an attorney at Jonathan R. Brockman, P.C. in Carrollton, Georgia, has filed suit on behalf of 19 Plaintiffs who all became ill after eating at Won Won Seafood Restaurant at 1600 Pleasant Hill Road, Duluth, Georgia 30096 as part of a Chinese New Year』s celebration on February 11, 2018.

The lawsuit asserts that all 19 Plaintiffs were served food family style at the restaurant and everyone ate from the same dishes at different tables and different locations in the restaurant. Following the celebratory meal, all 19 Plaintiffs became ill with the same symptoms of vomiting, diarrhea and stomach cramping with the commonality that they all ate at Won Won Seafood Restaurant.

The lawsuit further alleges that Won Won Seafood Restaurant failed to provide food reasonably safe for consumption by its patrons.

「Won Won Seafood refused to do the right thing and acknowledge that it was the source of the illness of all 19 of my clients and to pay for the small amount of damages which was requested to compensate my clients for their medical expenses, missed time from work and several days of miserable illness. The last thing my
clients wanted to do was file suit but Won Won Seafood Restaurant left them no choice. After we contacted Won Won Seafood Restaurant, rather than simply acknowledging the issue and paying the nominal amount requested to compensate my clients, the restaurant owners』 attempted to intimidate my clients in the Chinese
community. That is not the way to do business and treat customers,」 said Attorney Daley.

    我經常在旺旺大酒樓吃飯怎麼都沒事,每次海鮮都很新鮮啊。該不會自己吃錯東西了吧。都是中國人有什麼事不能解決的,何必要為難自己同胞?

    垃圾旺旺海鮮樓,跟朋友去吃 點了梅菜扣肉,食物不新鮮肉都過去了吃了都是臭的 梅菜都是苦的 最後沒辦法叫老闆自己過來吃了才給退。

    我們家幾乎每周都去一次,沒發現有拉肚子的。而且2年了,真有那麼多拉肚子,玩衛生局來檢查不過,早就關門了。

    旺旺海鮮灑樓是我和朋友常去的餐館,食物新鮮,菜色好,服務也不錯,跟其他中國餐館比較真是好太多了,就是忙的時候需要等久一點,每次去都盡興而歸,如果食物不新鮮或菜色不好大家還會去消費嗎?消費者的眼睛是雪亮的。
